Fighting Back with Truth

“From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.”  Matthew 11:12

As women of God, it can sometimes feel like we are constantly under attack. The enemy whispers lies into our minds:

You’re not good enough.

You’ve failed too many times.

God couldn’t really use someone like you.

This situation will never change, never get better.

These thoughts may be subtle (the devil is sneaky!), but they are part of a very real spiritual battle. The Bible reminds us that the kingdom of heaven advances through people who refuse to surrender to the forces of evil. Jesus’ words in Matthew 11:12 remind us that the life of faith is not passive, nor is it based upon our feelings—it requires courage, determination, and spiritual boldness, a “holy stubbornness.”

The enemy, Satan, would love for us to quietly accept his lies, isolating ourselves from fellow sisters-in-Christ. If he can convince us that we are powerless and alone, he keeps us stuck in fear, insecurity and despair. His goal is to ultimately take us out of the equation, rendering us useless for the kingdom.

But we don’t have to just roll over and take it!

When lies come, we can aggressively and violently fight back—with Truth.

When Satan says “You are condemned,” God’s Word says there is no condemnation for those in Christ.

When he says “You are weak,” God says His power is made perfect in weakness.

When he says “You are alone,” God promises He will never leave you nor forsake you.

What lies are you hearing today that YOU can combat with the Truth of God’s Word?

Spiritual warfare often happens in our thoughts, our minds, our feelings and our emotions. Every time we reject a lie and stand on God’s truth, we are taking ground for the kingdom. Remember: the kingdom of heaven is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. And Satan has come to kill, steal and destroy the kingdom inside of you! It’s time to put your foot down and say, “Enough is enough! No more, devil!”

This is not about anger or aggression—it’s about holy determination. It’s about refusing to let the enemy define our identity, our calling, or our future.

You are not defenseless.

You are not powerless.

You are a daughter of the King, and you have been given the authority of God’s Word.

So when the enemy whispers lies today, don’t shrink back.

Stand firm. Speak truth.

And take back what belongs to you in Christ. Righteousness. Peace. Joy.

Holy Spirit, help me recognize the lies of the enemy when they come. Give me awareness, strength and a holy stubbornness to reject the lies and to stand on Your truth instead of believing the enemy’s voice. You’ve already empowered me to fight the good fight of faith! Help me to walk confidently in the identity You have given me. In Jesus name, Amen!
