Hebrews 10:24-25
“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”
I am blown away daily by the beautiful interactions I see among the women of God in my life The way you all encourage one another, pray for one another and support one another is just amazing and so touching. You encourage and pray for women you haven’t even met in real life! It’s awesome to witness!!! Our online community has a very effective way of connecting with other women, women we may have never known otherwise. As many bad things we may have to say about social media, I think we can all agree that we are using it for a great thing!
But…I think we can all also agree that face-to-face interactions with others is so much better! To see facial expressions and body language to go along with those encouraging words, those concerns for prayers, the joy in answered prayers, the sorrow in loss grieved together….emojis just don’t cut it! To hug one of these dear sisters or shake a hand, that can’t be replaced by any social media outlet! To see the beauty and joy of the Holy Spirit emanating from eyes filled with love for you…you don’t get that in a picture or a video! There is nothing like literally linking arms with sisters in Christ as we journey through this miraculous thing called life!
The isolation of COVID quarantine did us dirty. I think some of us got in a rut of being alone and connected with others mostly through our phones. That being said, it’s time to get connected at a local church, a mom’s group or a women’s fellowship group….IN PERSON! If you are local to me, I obviously have some clear and totally awesome suggestions. But if not, I can help you find somewhere local to you to be part of.
The bottom line is we need each other. I need you. You need me. We’re all a part of God’s family…there was a song back in the day with those lyrics. Don’t let the fear of past experiences with “women” stop you from connecting now. It’s time! You have so much to give and there is so much for you to receive from others. Open yourself back up and let the love of God’s people fill your life!
